The Joy of Serving Widows
A Guide to Beginning a Widow and Homebound Ministry in Your Church
In John 10:10, Jesus says "I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly." He did not say - until you are old and nobody cares anymore.
The Joy of Serving Widows was written as a simple step-by-step training manual to help you begin and continue an effective widow and homebound ministry in your church. It will guide you in discovering these precious people and show you how to collect and organize information on Profile Sheets. Forms in the back of the book can be copied or used as guides for creating your own forms. Vicki Hendryx will share many practical ways to minister to and meet the needs of lonely isolated people while encouraging them to grow in their walk with the Lord and serve Him even in their seventies, eighties and nineties.
You will learn a fun and very successful way to recruit volunteers of all ages to "adopt" a widow into their families and share the love of Jesus as they learn the joy of serving widows.

She is an adult literacy volunteer, a federal judicial secretary, takes care of her elderly parents, and enjoys spending time with her husband Jerry at the softball fields since both of her children have recently married.
Like many of you, her life is very busy, but she finds her strength and her joy in serving the Lord and says, "Our time is like our tithe. When you give it to the Lord, He blesses and multiplies in ways that cannot be explained."
Vicki Hendryx has been a guest speaker at several seminars on ministry to senior adults and her enthusiasm and practical solutions are both motivating and heartwarming. She welcomes your questions and comments at Vicki@WidowMinistry.com.
